The Town of Cape Vincent Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Recreation Park on So. James Street, Cape Vincent, to consider the application of Thomas and Tammy Adams.

The applicant is requesting approval for a minor subdivision at 9780 Cemetery Road, Clayton, NY 13624 in the Town of Cape Vincent (tax map # 41.00-1-49).  The applicant is proposing to divide a 62.3-acre lot into 2 lots of 1.01-acres and 61.29-acres.

CAPE VINCENT LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

An exciting opportunity to make a difference in the Community of Cape Vincent!

  Over the last 6 months, The Cape Vincent Development Committee has been working as part of a joint initiative with the Town and Village of Cape Vincent to create a nonprofit Local Development Corporation. With the guidance and direction of a consulting firm, the committee is ready to take the next step.  The CV development Committee will soon cease to exist, but will be replaced by a new organization, known as the Local Development Corporation (CVLDC). CVLDC will become an economic development tool for the community. Organized as a Board of Directors, this dynamic group will assist with shaping the future of Cape Vincent and is designed to actively collect community ideas and collaborate  with Town and Village officials. If you are excited about the prospect to shape the future of Cape Vincent, please consider this as your opportunity to have a positive impact. Time is of the essence, letters of interest and resume, should be forwarded before January 10, 2022.

Position & Participation

This all-volunteer Board will provide organizational governance, oversight, and strategic planning, and work with CVLDC’s management to advance economic and community development throughout Cape Vincent. Board members will also ensure that CVLDC operates and utilizes resources ethically and appropriately. CVLDC’s Board members will generally serve a three-year term and will be expected to participate in monthly meetings.

Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Cape Vincent community. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience that brings expertise to the Board and be able to engage effectively with stakeholders.

Specific skillsets being sought include but are not limited to the following: property development, accounting, marketing, teaching/training, fundraising, grant writing, small business/entrepreneurship, legal, economic and/or community development.
